In March 2009, Douglas V. Thornton joined the law firm of Perkins, Mann & Everett as a partner in the litigation department, where his areas of practice encompass all facets of real estate disputes and transactions, construction law and litigation, corporate litigation, and business litigation.  Representative clients include Russell G. Smith, Incorporated, ICC-Stravinski, Spencer Enterprises, Inc., Calaveras Materials, Inc., Fryer Roofing, Shell Oil Company, and numerous other clients.

From 1984 to 1988, Mr. Thornton attended California State University, Fresno, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History in 1988.  After college, he attended Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School where he received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 1991.  During law school, Mr. Thornton clerked with the Fresno law firm of Kimble, MacMichael & Upton and also worked for the General Counsels' Office of Brigham Young University.

Prior to joining Perkins, Mann & Everett, Mr. Thornton worked at the offices of Kimble, MacMichael & Upton where he worked as an associate for six years and as a partner for four years.  In March of 2000, he joined the firm of Motschiedler, Michaelides & Wishon and became a partner in 2002.  

Mr. Thornton is a member of the Fresno County Bar Association and the State Bar of California.  He is also a graduate of Hastings College of Trial Advocacy at the University of California, San Francisco.
