Jan T. Perkins is a transactional attorney whose practice focuses on corporate, real estate, and strategic wealth transfer and asset protection matters.  Mr. Perkins serves a wide range of business clients in industries such as real estate development, automobile dealerships, agricultural, trucking, insurance, and credit unions.  He handles a wide variety of sophisticated contract and transactional matters, including: state securities law compliance; corporation, partnership and LLC formations; operations and dissolutions; business mergers, acquisitions and divestures; venture capital financings; institutional, secured and other loan transactions; executive and employee plans and agreements; and legal opinions.  Mr. Perkins also provides firm clients with strategic wealth transfer and planning advice and assists in the creation of estate planning structures that: minimize transfer taxes; reflect the values of the family; provide clients with closely held businesses with appropriate business succession strategies; provide for income tax free transfer of assets; complete client goals for charitable giving; that take advantage of generation skipping tax planning and asset protection strategies that preserve client assets for future generations.

Mr. Perkins attended Brigham Young University, where he graduated with a B.A degree in history in 1970.  He received a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 1973.  He was Vice Chancellor of the Moot Court Honor Society in 1972-1973 and was responsible for the Freshman Legal Writing Program at the University of Utah for 1972-1973.  He was elected to the Bar and Gavel Society for service to the law school.  Mr. Perkins holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the national directory of attorneys, indicating preeminent legal ability and the highest ethical standards.

Mr. Perkins is a member of the Taxation, Real Property, Trust and Probate Law Sections for both the Fresno County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  He is a member of the State Bar of California, and serves on the Fresno Estate Planning Council.

An active member of the community, Mr. Perkins' civic activities include service on the Mayor's Committee for Downtown Development; membership in the Padrino's, a guild in support of Valley Children's Hospital; Western Region Board of Directors, Boy Scouts of America; the Rotary Club of Fresno, and various church boards.  He is recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award from the Fresno County United Way and the Silver Buffalo Award from the Boy Scouts of America.
